Center for Gender & Development

The The William V.S. Tubman University Center for Gender and Development (CGD) promotes research work in gender issues and community development.  It seeks to become a gender hub through assorted outreach strategies; and to provide training, share information, and support women’s empowerment.  It also aims to establish links and dialogue with national and international stakeholders.

Institutional level:

  1. Augment TU’s research capacity in gender and development;
  2. Promote gender equity in the university’s activities in general;
  3. Provide the knowledge basis for normative change in gender roles and relations; and
  4. Create a space for dialogue on gender issues.

Community Outreach level:

  1. Proactively disseminate gender-related information;
  2. Support development, governance, and economic empowerment of women;
  3. Amplify women’s voice/activism  and/or advocacy; and
  4. Promote professionalism and humanitarianism in gender development.
